NYC Snow Storm 2010 (Video Added)

Hey all,

As most of you out there probably already know the northeast was hit by a very moderate snow storm system. I sure many of you out there dealt with this little bad boy, and have stories to tell.

Since you are here reading my blog I thought I'd post up some pictures I took. These pictures are from Monday, the day after the storm hit us here in NYC.

I truly believe that this storm caught many people by surprise. I myself didn't expect the storm to be so severe, but the 50mph winds made the whole situation worse. Yesterday (Sunday), the sky was gray and dark, the snow came down in steady streams, and the wind blew that steady stream horizontally that it created a screen of white dust that obscured visibility.

Oddly enough, the sky was clear and blue today. However, the wind continued to persist. In addition, mass transit was crippled through the city with major subway and bus lines suspended or delayed by hours. It was horrible to say the least. The news reported even greater stories of unpleasantness. There were people who were unfortunate enough to be trapped in trains for hours, or were caught and stranded on the highways.

I can't imagine what that must feels like. I hope all those people were okay and managed to get to where they were going safely. All three airports had canceled service, but the last time I saw the news they were scheduled to resume at about 6pm.

Who knows how that is going at this point. It is a little after 6pm right now as I write this blog post.

In retrospect, today wasn't that bad. The sun was out and it was quite pleasant outside. Until, the wind blew and sent a deep chill through your body. Of course, digging a car out was not much fun either.

The only down side is that all this snow will stick around for a few weeks. It just becomes a nuisance, and it just further makes me appreciate rain during situations like this.

Anyway, hope everyone is staying warm and dealing with this weather safely.

Until next post!

Hey, I added a link to a video I took after the storm below. Check it out! There's another on my Youtube page.

PS3 Update! (Sort of)

Hey, all or some,

Well a few posts back I reported that my PS3 needed eye surgery. Now, I believe I reported on this already, but that went well and my system is back in fine working order. (For the time being)

Anyway, I had been planning a major hard drive upgrade for some time now.

I bought a new internal hard drive, a Western Digital 500gb notebook drive, and I'm ready to begin with that process. I read and viewed many videos on the back up and swap procedures and I'm confident that it will go well.

Wouldn't you know it! I ran into another problem. I've said it before, it seems that the game gods are against me when it comes to my gadgets. I removed the old 60gb HDD out of the PS3, and of all the things to give me the worst trouble, the screws which hold the hard drive to the tray won't come out. After a few hours, a few different screw drivers I only managed to wear down or round off the screws. AARRGGHH!!

I am so pissed right now. Then again maybe not. I'm just disappointed that it's taking this long to do something so simple. On top of that, why does something so simple end up becoming such a headache.

I did the next logical thing. I emailed Sony and asked them if they could send me a replacement tray and screws. I read that they supplied them for free at one point, so it didn't hurt to ask. Hopefully they still do, and even if they charge it shouldn't be that expensive. My only other option is to shop around for a replacement on ebay or at the game shop that handles repairs.

My goodness, its been one set back after another for my old PS3. It's a trooper though! The upgrade will also give me some much needed room to move, and I need that!

And, let me tell you that this HDD upgrade is also coming with its share is issues concerning game saves. Some will transfer over while others not. But, I'll talk about those in my full upgrade post and my after thoughts on the whole process.

That's all on this for now.

Later gators!

Being A Translator + More Updates

No I'm not a translator, or I should say that I don't do that for a living. I had an interesting situation yesterday. A martial arts instructor from Columbia came to visit and speak with my sifu.

He spoke very little English and my sifu did not speak that much Spanish, so I was to act as a translator between the two.

I have to say that it was a unique experience. As far as I can remember, this is the first time I have ever translated between two languages. It was fun, but also nerve wrecking. As you are listening from one language to the next you are trying to make sure that you are understanding every point being made. Then you are figuring out how to best relay that information.

Although I am bilingual, I still have some difficulties speaking. I grew up speaking both, but used English more. When I go to Peru to visit family I find it a bit nerve wrecking to speak with them. Ha! Yeah, this must sound completely ridiculous.

So, yesterday was very enlightening. I felt good knowing what my capabilities were!

On a more irritating note. Back in October (I believe), I reported an issue with my medical insurance. I went to a hearing, and a few days ago I received a decision. Well, my insurance is going to be discontinued because I make a hundred dollars over my current carrier's eligible requirements. It sucks, but the positive side is that they are required to assist me with the switch to the next tier in insurance. This is good because that way I won't suffer from any lapse in coverage.

Ahh, these are some of the positive and negative perks of working part-time.

Lastly, and I should have put this up days ago. My PS3 is back in working order and I'm happy to have it back home! I tested the system out only once so far because I'm a little hesitant to use it for fear of the lens going out on me again. Ha, I'm just being silly about it, but I don't want to go through that set back again.

I plan on giving my PS3 a large hard drive upgrade very soon, so that will help alleviate my stress and concerns. Rest assured I will document it here when it happens. So, in the end there's a positive note.

Well, that's it for now.

Talk soon.

More Stuff + News = You Do The Math

Well, Folks, besides my PS3 woes from yesterday I didn't realize that my last post was my 40th post on It's All In My Head!

I can't believe how much I have put into this blog. At first I thought I wasn't going to keep up with it, or that I would eventually lose interest in updating it with stuff. Quite on the contrary. This blog has sort of kept me actively writing since way back in early October, so I'm very pleased with myself for the commitment.

Well, it's not like I haven't been doing any writing at all during the last five months. I'm in a creative writing MFA program so there's plenty of it. Some of you out there know what I mean! ^_^

Anyway, It's All In My Head is a creative outlet for myself to express my thoughts and opinions on whatever popped into my head. I've talked so far about many personal interests and endeavors, and believe me when I say that there's more to come! It's hard updating a blog with stuff, and I try.

On another note, after taking my PS3 for eye surgery, I received a jury summons letter in the mail. Great, just what I really needed as an early Christmas gift to compound my woes. Ha! Some people find it interesting, but I just find it a nuisance. No matter how I prepare to occupy myself during the long hours that I'm there the hours never seem to go by quickly.

As you can tell from my face, I'm not thrilled at all by this headache.

One interesting fact, on my last visit through jury duty I saw Saturday Night Live actor Chris Parnell. This was over four years ago, but it was cool!

Damn it! I'm not looking forward to sitting in that jury waiting room. If I'm going to sit on a jury then I want Alex Cabot from Law and Order: SVU to be one of the attorneys present. I love Stephanie March's character of Alex Cabot on Law and Order: SVU. It's one of the reasons I watch it.

**Wait, I just read she's not coming back after the eleventh season! NOOO!!!**

The blows just keep on coming. I'll deal with it, and hopefully get my PS3 back today.

Until then!

P.s. Forgot to mention that my jury summons is for early January, and I'll have to postpone because I'll be out of town much of January. So there is some light.

PS3 Woes

So it finally happened to me. I've always heard stories from friends or read about it on the internet, but I never once believed it would happen to me.

Sure, I've thought about it, but never thought it would happen because I've had it for about five or six years (I think).

What am I talking about? Well, the blu-ray drive on my PS3 stopped reading any disc that I put in there. So, in essence I can't play games for the time being. What's even funnier was the fact that it decided to quite on me while I was playing Gran Turismo 5. I had just won a race too.

I was pissed that it happened, but wasn't surprised that it happened. I've owned my PS3 for about five or six years, and during that time I've played blu ray games and movies. In other words, I really put the lens through its paces. So, the lens finally gave out on me, and I had to take it to a local repair shop.

I should be getting it back in a day or two. Let me tell you, I felt sad and naked after I dropped off my PS3 at the repair shop. Ha ha. I know this must show weird, but I've had it for so long and it never gave me any headaches.

Yeah, I'm a little teary eyed. BUT, my hope is that my system will be back in top shape.

Luckily, I bought a stand alone blu ray player, and I was able to play enough of Gran Turismo 5. So, expect my review of Gran Turismo 5 very soon.

Rest assured I tell you guys when I get back on track.

Until then!

A Dec. 12th Birthday!

Well, this is a little different. It's not meant for an audience, but for one person only.

Then again, maybe it can be for anyone. I guess it depends on what I say and how that audience interprets its. If anything, it will probably feel like I'm talking to my self.

Honestly, that's what it seems like. I mean, there is no one else here listening to me, or is there? These are the moments where I can speak my mind. You know, be humble and one with the universe or at least my soul.

Anyway, it's 1am, and I'm watching Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. It's at the part where Sean Connery scares the birds into the oncoming German fighter plane. Yeah, that was funny. Well, it's your day, and I'm trying to think of what to say other then the usual.

I will say the usual, of course! Just not yet.

So, where do I begin? How about, how did you wake up this morning? Were you warm or cold? It is cold out there this time of year. I think you might have it worse then me when it comes to cold weather and snow! I remember the time we compared snow storms. You beat me!

Did you still feel groggy or were you wide awake when you woke up? Hair wild and all over the place or plastered against your face? Ha! Or, were you lucky enough to have that one strand of hair sticking out of your hair at an odd angle?

Enough of that. We all have bad morning hair days.

So, how old are you now? 24, 44 or 16, I'm just kidding. I know how old you're turning. I'm happy for you. You have so much accomplished, and there is still more waiting for you around the corner. I'm just barely getting my feet wet, and who knows where that will end up. I'm happy for you anyway!

I can't imagine what you have planned out for today or what you did already. Let me say right now that I'm joggling between thinking you might see this before you get your day started or after you've partied yourself out.

I bet it would be pretty interesting to see you enjoy yourself or sprawled out on the couch after a long day. Then again, maybe you had a quiet day to relax and take a load off from the last few months. You deserve it either way.

The rain started coming down here, and I believe snow will be in our forecast later in the coming week. Has it started snowing up there? Any blizzards for your birthday? I'm sure we'll get your left overs or is it the other way around? Not that it matters because I'll still say it's your fault ^_^ If it snows this week I'll be pointing my finger at you. Wait, didn't I already say this?

I hope you realize I'm only kidding. Today I'll applaud and extend my hand out to you.

Days go by and like yesterday, today will be no different. Tomorrow will be like any other day. It just depends on how we choose to live it. I can't remember anything memorable about the last several years as I grew older; except, I had good food and fine companionship with my family and friends on my B-day. That's what it is for me at least. As long as I have good food (restaurant or home cooked) it's fine with me. And with family and friends to share those good times then all is right with the world.

What about you? I'm sure it is something similar or even better! What ever it is, it's yours to keep.

Ah, it feels like I've been rambling on with no real point in mind. Ha! It's probably dumb of me to say that after everything I've just written. It's certainly one of those posts (of many) that will appear on this blog. Anyway, despite the fact that I couldn't (or can't) be there.

I want to wish you a safe and Happy Birthday! You know where you can reach me if you want to respond or chat. Well, peace out and keep going forward.

Oh, one more thing. If you haven't already done so, check out the clip on the post right after this one. It'll make you laugh for sure!

Have fun, and until next time.

If Cats Could Talk

This is going to be short, but I wanted to post this up.

I was searching through You Tube when I came across this video of these two cats playing patty cake. Now someone added a clever voice dub to the clip, making it look as though the cats were having a conversation and argument as they played.

It is the funniest and cutest clip I have seen in a long time, and I thought I would share it here with who ever else is following my exploits and adventures.

Believe me this clip will make you laugh, and if it doesn't. Then there is something wrong with you!

See the You Tube clip below and enjoy it yourselves.

Have fun!

Blu Ray/DVD combo packs!!

Well Hello there,

It's Saturday night and I'm sitting here watching Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, and I'm thinking that maybe I want to pick that up on DVD or Blu Ray.

This of course leads me to my topic for this post. I recently bought Inception on Blu Ray/DVD combo. My thought and reason for buying this combo instead of just one or the other is really simple.

It's bloody awesome!! Just think about it!

You are getting or paying for both a Blu Ray and DVD copy of the same movie, so you can watch the corresponding version on either your Blu Ray or DVD player. Also, having this combo deal makes when you want to show the movie to your friend and he or she doesn't have a Blu Ray player. It's having the best of both worlds!

And here's the kicker.

The combo pack is only two or three dollars more than the two-disc DVD copy of the same movie. Now keep in mind that I'm referring to new releases, and the store that has these prices is Best Buy. I'm sure most other retail stores have similar sales. Best Buy usually has new release combo packs for either $25-26 dollars during the movies initial release.

I know most people would disagree, but I think it's a really great tactic.

At this point I bought several movies as combo packs. My Blu Ray library is not as large as my DVD collection because I'm only buying certain (memorable, favorite, classic) movies under this format.

It's times like this that I say to myself (like many of you have I'm sure), it's great to be alive this day in age of high definition, digital, media.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I'll have mini reviews of films posted very soon.

So, my verdict: Blu Ray/DVD combo packs are great! They have many benefits, and the cost is very affordable.

Until next time.

The Walking Dead - Season Finale + News

So, I just finished watching the season finale of AMC's The Walking Dead, and I have to admit that I was expecting a larger exit on the part of some of the characters.

To sum things up, the series this far as been a roller coaster ride of triumphs and pitfalls. The story kept me involved so far, and the characters suffered and persevered against the dead. Despite their emotional turmoil they continued to cling on to hope that an answer or solution existed somewhere to the plague.

My own personal interest in this show was invested in how these characters dealt with the odds that were stacked against them. Each character lost friends or family along the way, but the idea of finding a solution always remained their focus.

Enter Rick Grimes, and the possibility of finding salvation at the CDC.

Ever since the end of episode five, I wanted to know how this first (successful) season of a zombie TV series would end. For myself, the series reached a climax at the end of episode five with Rick screaming "You're killing us!" And then the doors to the CDC's facility opened.

During episode Six, I thought two things marked this episode with a pivotal point that, I assume, would give direction for the rest of the series.

The introduction of the scientific perspective added a dimension of understanding, lament and sympathy. Dr. Jenner's explanation of the phenomenon informs but also brings the realization that the plague has already gone far beyond reversal. Jenner reveals that the facility has been set with a contingency protocol that would activate in the case of a facility power outage.

As we soon find out, the facility had been running on backup generators and a clock has been counting down to complete disposal. The entire facility had been set to self destruct to prevent the escape of any of the dangerous infectious diseases kept in containment.

Dr. Jenner puts into perspective the idea that there's nothing left to do or fight for. It's the same idea or realization that many zombie movies touched upon. The whole world is dead, what else is there to hope for or continue escaping for? Jenner locks everyone in the facility as a way of releasing them from their misery of living and hiding in a world that no longer holds any hope or salvation.

It truly is a difficult and pivotal moment in the series where tensions are high and characters are divided.

Dr. Jenner eventually changes his mind and unlocks the doors. Rick thanks him, but Jenner tells Rick that the day will come when he wished he had stayed. Jenner whispers something in Rick's ear before we follow the rest out of the facility. I guess this is something we'll find out at some point in season two.

One character does stay behind and perishes along with Dr. Jenner in the massive fireball that consumes the entire CDC facility. The remaining characters leave behind the last bastion of salvation and head out in search for another sanctuary.

So, my verdict, the first season ended on a medium-high note with the realization that there is nothing safe left and no hope for a return to normality. The characters are destined to find their own way to survive from here in out. I honestly felt that the number of returning characters would be smaller because several opted to end their lives in the blast, but changed their minds a few seconds before the explosion. How or what changed their minds? This is something that we'll most likely also find out in season two.

On another note, a friend of mine sent me a link to a news article that stated that Frank Darabont had let go of his entire writing staff at the end of this first season. I scratched my head and thought - What? From my understanding this sort of move happens with British shows quite often, but its unheard of on a American show.

The article went on to say that the show will continue without a set writing staff and will look into the possibility of hiring freelance writers to continue moving the series forward. There's an interesting opportunity, and all I can say is its about time freelancers got a piece of the pie!

Well, this whole news bit needs to be confirmed first by other notable sources before I or anyone can take it seriously. Right now it seems more like a rumor. However, rest assured that if it is confirmed, the freelance writing world will jump at the opportunity. I, for one, would be excited to try to get a piece of the pie!

So, season one of The Walking Dead gets a thumbs up from me.

Christmas Season and Spirit

I was returning home from teaching martial arts on Friday night, and my trek back to the subway station brought me through Penn Station.

The interior of Penn Station has been decorated with festive lights and ornaments. At the center of the main hall where the connection to all trains, buses and eateries are located, a large Christmas tree stands.

I saw it earlier when I walked through there, but I was in a hurry and couldn't stop to take pictures. However, on the way back I made sure to take a few snapshots so I could share them here.

The holidays are getting closer, but we still haven't had any snow. I'm sure however that the snow will follow very soon as the temperatures continue to stay cold.

Rest assured that when the snow starts falling I'll post up those pics here when I take them.

Until then.

A Week of Heavy Rain and Blistering Cold

Hey, people, it's been a few days.

Well, December is here and you know what that means! Christmas and bleeding pockets.

I'd thought I would share a few interesting developments in the weather here in New York. This past week we had a tremendous rain storm that brought torrential rains down on us.

I recall on Tuesday the weather looked very cloudy with maybe a light sprinkle, but then on Wednesday the worst hit.

I was at my job when the waters came and temporarily sidelined me indoors before I decided to just make tracks.

Certain areas around the campus were flooded because the drains could not handle the heavy amount of rain. Coupled with the intense wind the rain just hit you in the face in relentless streams.

It was a very wet day to say the least!

The rain was unforgiving, during the day, that umbrellas were useless. So, I didn't try opening mine. Later that afternoon, the rain had stopped and everything was glazed in a thin sheet of rain.

Moving on!

For the past few days the weather became extremely cold that I wished I had put on more layers of clothes to keep me a little warmer. But, I survived so I'm not complaining.

The one thing I would complain about is the fact that I had no heat for the past two days. As you can probably guess, I was really pissed!

Ah, that's the weather for you.

Thanksgiving Feast!

Hey all!

Well, Thanksgiving is over and I sure, like me, most of you are still feasting on left over turkey, or chicken, or whatever other meat dishes you had prepared.

And, just like every year, I stuffed myself with so much food that it should be enough to keep me fed for the next few months, Ha!

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few pictures of my feast, the food and my family.

As you can see, we had quite a spread of food! Besides the huge turkey, there was a large tray of Mac & Cheese, cooked ham, potato salad, dinner rolls and rice. Looking back at it, it was really a lot of food, but I wasn't complaining.

What can I say? Good food must be accompanied by good wine!

We are all gathered around the table and ready to feast!

It was a good day, and we all had a good time catching up on all of our endeavors during the past few months. Life is swell when you are enjoying it with family and/or friends.

Christmas and New Years is right around the corner, so I can't imagine what feasts we'll have prepared. But, I know that it'll be good times no matter what!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!

Until next time!

A Semester's End and Upcoming Holidays

Hey, All,

It's been a while, and I apologize for my absence. This is strange; I'm apologizing to an audience that I don't know even exists. I might as well just apologize to myself for being away from my own blog, Ha!

Anyway, as November comes to an end I find myself trying to put the finishing touches on my last packet of work for grad school. Most of my work is pretty much complete, but I want to work on a few additional stories and annotations that I may want to include. But, I don't know if I will.

That's the struggle of a student who is trying to reach goals that seem to change every day! I'm sure that I'll make a decision soon on what I will complete, but I'll enjoy the ride during that time.

Thanksgiving is two days away and I'm looking forward to the feast that will be prepared. I'm going to try to assist in the preparation, but I don't know what I'll contribute yet. Either way, being with my family and sharing in the good times is all that matters, and of course the food! Once that is over, Christmas and New Years is right around the corner. It feels like a left followed by a right hook :)

Well, that's all for now. First blu ray and game reviews coming soon! So be on the lookout for that.

Until then.

So I'm Getting Published

A few posts ago I mentioned one of my short stories was rejected for an anthology. Well, I had a strange twist of fate this past weekend, and after a two hour email conversation my story was accepted!

It seemed that a few of the accepted contributors pulled their stories due to a controversy and mine became an immediate back up. I was speechless and a little overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events that finally led to my story's acceptance.

To be honest, I'm still reluctant to acknowledge the fact that it happened. I guess this is what all first time author's feel when they finally get their work published. Ironically the title of the anthology where my story will appear is titled First Time Dead. It is an anthology of zombie stories (^_^) written by authors who were never published before. So, we're all newbies!!

I still feel proud to have been included with a group of new talented author's, and I can't wait to read what they have contributed.

Looking back, I remember the editor's comments upon my initial rejection. My story was well received but the the competition was tough and it didn't make the initial cut. I got lucky that's what it balled down to, but my story had something that allowed it to be reconsidered again. Hopefully one day I can find out what that something was.

Since Saturday I've been calm and subdued. I haven't allowed myself to be overcome with unimaginable blind joy and ecstatic fury. Ha Ha! Today I signed and sent in the contract, so it's real!

From what I read, the reception for this anthology was so great that there are two volumes coming out. I don't know which volume my story will be in, but I'll make sure to put it here once I know. Also, I believe the release date for the anthology will be around February of 2011. Again, more details once I find them out.

I don't know what else to say except stay tuned for more news and post topics. DVD/Blu Ray reviews coming soon and who knows what else is right around the corner.

Thanks all around!
Until next post.

Stuff Coming This Way!!!

Hey all,

I have some great news and ideas to mention! But, I'll mention most of it in later posts, which will be in the next few days.

I needed to get through some other posts before I move into this new stage of posts that will be appearing on my blog. I think this is the most exciting part of having your own blog; it is the freedom to post whatever you want as long as it is within reason.

I will be talking about some of my hobbies and doing DVD/Blu Ray reviews of select movies, and talking about some of my favorite video games!

And, an important piece of news that will have to wait until later in the week.

Other things will follow so stay tuned. This will be a short one.

Until then!

Humans! a Zombie Board Game.

I wanted to post this up after I placed my review of The Walking Dead, but things change and I am now finally putting it up.

Anyway, back a Zombithon I had some friends over and our intention was to spend the day watching movies from my zombie collection. As it turned out one of my friends suggested playing a zombie board game he had seen. It was a great idea to compliment the whole theme of our little (and long overdue) get together.

My friend went down to Forbidden Planet around 14th street in Manhattan to purchase the game, but instead came back with the alternative "Humans!" game. The original game he set out to buy was called (not surprisingly) "Zombies!"

The difference - In "Zombies!" your objective is to kill as many zombies where as in "Humans!" the goal is to infect as many humans.

My friends, Dan(left) and Jose(right) as we prepare for massive consumption.

As I mentioned before the goal is to capture ten humans to win the game. The layout is constructed by individual tile pieces. Each player draws a random tile and places it in any way he or she desires. You can have a layout with loops, straights, dead ends, its all up to the player's discretion.

Most of the tiles have building information and how many human characters are present on that tile.

Each player picks a particular type of zombie from five or six different types by drawing a random card. The card has specific details concerning the number of move counts, attack requirements and special moves. During each turn, the players take tiles and determine the layout. The player then tries to capture and infect humans while the other player(s) try to intervene by arming the humans with weapons, changing the placement of humans, adding field effects that alter the game play via cards.

The actual capturing, infecting and even battle damage is determined by meeting certain requirements by dice roll. The game is very intuitive as it takes into account many possible situations and conditions that could happen during a zombie attack. Just battling and taking damage is an adventure that is as random as the dice rolling box cars.

This game was truly a lot of fun and very competitive. My friends and I spent a few hours bash talking and plotting out each others downfall! Well, Most of that time was spent familiarizing ourselves with the mechanics and game play, but once that was cleared it was a fun afternoon.

Dan may look like he's eating Reese's pieces, but he is actually counting "do over" chips.
Jose is carefully watching as the playing field takes shape!

Creative minds coming together to out do each other. What a blast! Zombithon was well over due, and I am glad that I finally decided to host it again this year.

Even Nemesis came by to watch!

There I am deep in concentration before I make my next move. Well not really, I'm just chillin' and watching the game play out!

Yes sir, it was a great day and we had a lot of fun. As always being among good long-time friends is a great way to enjoy a memorable day of jokes, TV shows and games.

Thanks Guys!

Until next time.

Freschetta Pizza!

So I ate a Freschetta Pizza the other day, and I must say that it was quite good. I love pizza, and who doesn't, but I'm usually picky about what kind frozen pizza I eat. I usually tend to stick with a certain brand because they are either cheap or well made.

I'm the type that is willing to try new things once to see if they are worthy of being added to my list of preferred purchasable products, and I must say that it is a new welcomed choice. I have to thank my Sis for introducing me to this frozen delight!

Of course, I still prefer to just buy freshly made slices at the corner pizzeria, but Freschetta does make a nice alternative when you don't want to head or settle for Dominoes.

On the box it says that the crust will rise after it is baked. They are not kidding! When done it was almost twice its own size. I had the pepperoni version, so it had an extra meaty taste.

Total time to bake was about 30 to 40 minutes. It preheated my oven to 400 degrees and placed the medium sized pie in, and after 20 to 25 minutes - presto! It was done.

At first the crust got so thick in the oven that I thought it looked like one of those pasta bread bowls from Dominoes. It's a decent size and the cheese and pepperoni were tasty, so I can't complain. Well, it is hot coming right out of the oven, so give it some time to cool or you'll burn your mouth.

Until next time!

Radiator, Where's the Heat?

This is really a two part rant. Most of you out there know or will know what I'm talking about, but read on anyway! It could provide you with a sense of comfort to know that you are not alone, or at least give you a laugh.

I meant to rant about the lack of heat in my building that happens at night from time to time. Why at night? I can't say. Maybe the super thinks that he'll save money by keeping it off at night?

But why at night? Why not during the day? Does he figure that people don't need heat at night because they are asleep? I don't know. I just think it's really annoying to wake up in the morning to a freezing room. Your whole body is shivering from sleeping in that ice cave and then to walk around like that is frustrating. The bed sheets that you reach for to comfort and warm you are ice cold, and all you can do in the most extreme cases is roll up into the fetal position and try to sleep that way.

Bare with me, I meant to talk about this here a couple of days ago, but I started getting the first symptoms of my cold back then. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because I slept that night in the cold!

                                                                 Ye old heat provider.

Man, I get really angry when things like this happen during the winter. There are times that just want to kick the crap out of that radiator, but I know that it isn't its fault.

But, you know what I hate more than no heat? You guys and gals out there should know what comes next - pretty obvious! IT'S NO "DAMN" HOT WATER!

How can a building not have hot water for its tenants in the morning or during the day? It's unthinkable; it makes me want to scream! This one happens quite often in my building as far as I could tell, and it got to the point that I thought the super was being a real asshole. I just couldn't explain why there were so many times that the hot water would stop running. And, during the winter, it's imperative that we use use hot water.

I don't know about you, but showering in cold water during winter is a definite NO WAY! I have had to resort to jumping into cold water because I had no another alternative. I've boiled water, yes, but when you are running late then you have to bite your tongue and deal with it. AND, I DON"T CARE HOW TOUGH you think you are after that. It's still not fun, or pleasant or a walk in the park.

Okay that's that! Enough of me bitching. Stay tuned because new post materials coming soon!

I Feel a Cold Coming...

In reality I should say that I have a cold. It hit me quite suddenly like a ninja attack from out of the shadows, Ha! Anyway, I had all the symptoms: sneezing, running nose and a light achy throat.

Oh, and did I mention the coughing?

If I didn't, well yeah! I had that too! It was quite a miserable day and a half to say the least. And, I still don't know how I'll wake up tomorrow. Between drinking lots of fluids and taking Nyquil, I have to say that I am surviving this attack on my body.

It is a slow process as most of you know, and it can be very taxing on your patience! Believe me, sneezing every two minutes, and either drying or blowing your nose every time you feel that trickle in you nose -- IS ANNOYING!

And embarrassing.

However, not all is lost. It is quite amazing what you can do when you are running on 50%. Well, actually, there's nothing you can do because you're sick! But, I did try something interesting today. I made ramen soup for dinner. I used the instant ramen noodles from the packets and some creative additives that I had at home to brew my first homemade Ramen dish.

It wasn't what I was hoping for, but it was still a courageous attempt! My first try at making a broth for the soup was a disappointment, but luckily the ground beef and Vienna sausages I added gave it an extra filling taste.

I've been experimenting a lot with cooking food this past week; it's a trail and error learning process. Maybe I'll talk a little more about my cooking exploits in another post.

Well, I venture ahead to complete recovery.
Until then - take care of yourself, and don't get sick!

Columbus Park, Chinatown - NYC

I thought I would put up some pictures that I took when I was in Columbus Park a few weeks ago. NYC's Chinatown is always busy with activity. On the morning that I went, many restaurants and shops were just getting ready to open up for the day.

I was there to meet my Kung Fu teacher and some other students for a day of outdoor extra-curricular practice. In the end, I was the only one there along with my Sifu, but I got a chance to go over a few things. So, it wasn't time wasted!

On my way to Columbus Park, Chinatown.

I think Columbus Park is filled with people at all hours of the day!

I got there at about 9 in the morning, and there were quite a few people there already.

The mid-section of the park is actually divided into two parts.

Here is the soccer field section. The local soccer club kids are here practicing or playing a match.

And, this is the basketball section. Every Sunday morning when I came here to meet up with my other training brothers/sisters this part would be occupied by martial arts practitioners from all backgrounds.

It is a very popular practice location because it is a large wide open area.

A look down Canal street on a bright Sunday.

Well, that's all I have from that day. It was a pleasant morning in Chinatown, and I sent an hour or two wondering around. There's really so much to see around Chinatown, but hardly enough time to see it all because most of the major attractions are in Canal.

Unless you know what you're looking for and know where to find it, you can spend an entire afternoon here and not really find much. But, that's the whole point of exploring!

Until the next post!

Contest and Short Story Submissions

Howdy!

It's been a few days since my last post. I apologize for that. It's been a little busy with life's random acts and situations. You know what I mean; we have to take care of ourselves first before anything else.

Anyway, I submitted a short story to a zombie anthology about two months ago, and I recently received my rejection letter from them. Ahhh. I shot and I missed, Ha! However, it wasn't all bad. From the explanation I received, my entry seemed to be a potential contender, but the stiffer competition forced it out of contention.

A nice piece of criticism from the editor was that he wanted my main character to be "more bad ass". It's true that I wrote about a female lead whose moral sense of obligation during a particular situation forced her to be pro-active; however, it seemed that I should've made her more so.

Either way, I was glad to know that it was well received and a likely candidate.

On to other news, I've been entering AMC's The Walking Dead "Be A Zombie" contest. This is the second week that I have entered, and I hope to win a walk-on role as a zombie on the show. Wish me luck!

This weekend's episode was also really good! Moral/social integrity, the human condition, and inventive forms of zombie camouflage, I love it!

Well, that's it for now, but I'll be back soon!
Until then

The Walking Dead - Afterthoughts

Well, it's been two days since I saw the premier of The Walking Dead. I needed time to readjust myself back into reality, Ha! Anyway, I'll start off by saying that I was very pleased with the presentation of this comic to TV adaptation.

Being a huge fan of the genre, my critical eye was watchful for certain elements that are essential to keep these bad boys in line. So, saying I was pleased, says a lot!

To begin with, I admit (1) that I only read the first issue, and that was only recently; (2) my other pre-view thought was that I had my reservations about this show. On top of that, the previews for this show were everywhere that I was getting annoyed, to the point that I was telling myself, "This had better be good!" And believe me when I say that I wasn't the only one who thought that. My troop who came over to watch it with me, you know who you are!

Now I know that advertising is good, but every five minutes, and on just about every cable channel is too much!

Enough of my negative views.

The Walking Dead started out very much like the comic itself, depicting the journey that Rick Grimes (main character) takes to find his family during the apocalypse. As I mentioned before, since I only read the first issue I knew that there was a lot of character development that I was not aware of. Thankfully, the writers foresaw this and in developing/adapting the comic for TV, added extra moments/scenes of character development to flesh these characters out from the beginning.

What I enjoy the most about zombie movies (serious ones) is the sense of human mental suffering, not just the physical struggle to survive. Psychologically speaking, what is going on in the minds of our heroes as he or she travels north or south in search of safety. The first episode gave us plenty of this element. There were genuine moments where you felt the impact and fear at the visuals that were shown. This is, of course, the handy work of director Frank Darabont who used his visionary creativity to bring this world forward from its simple pages, and make it come alive.

My favorite scene took place the minute Rick entered Atlanta. The swarm that chased and almost killed him was beautifully done. It was the one moment not capture enough in zombie films, the urban aftermath. I even feel that an urban war scene in a zombie movie would be the biggest attention grabber. Just imagine soldiers, tanks, and bombs leveling city blocks as the hordes of undead continue to march forward!

The special make-up effects were another impressive touch, adding to the realistic appeal of the show. The reason why was because legendary SFX artist Greg Nicotero was on board. For Those who don't know, Greg Nicotero worked with another legendary SFX artist - Tom Savini on George Romero's Survival of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and going back to Day of the Dead (original). Greg has an extensive job resume of films he has done SFX for, so check them out in IMDB.

I was excited and curious to see what kind of work Greg was going to do on The Walking Dead. I was really impressed by the legless female zombie in the park!

My friends and I enjoyed the hour and a half premier on Sunday, and look forward to the rest the series. I'm still debating whether or not to read through the comic, or just watch the TV series. In the end, I'll probably just watch the show, and allow myself to be surprised by the journey as it unfolds.

I even entered the contest to win a walk-on roll as a zombie in one of the future episodes! This contest will continue to happen weekly toward the end of each newly aired episode. You know I will enter! So, cross my fingers.

Looking back, I have nothing negative to say about The Walking Dead (TV series). There is enough psychological drama and powerful emotional drive to keep the series appealing for me. So, I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Until next time - shamble onward!

Zombie Movie Collection

And the posts just keep coming. I tell you that it'll keep on getting more random because it's what I want to put up.

I just realized that I could have put this as part of my last post. Oh well, that's my mistake.

Anyway, this is what I have left to look through! I know I won't get through each and every movie in my collection, but I'll give it my best shot.

As you can see, I have a pretty decent number of films in my collection. I'm sure that it'll continue to grow as I come across other worthy entries.

The bottom line is, no one can call themselves a zombie fan unless they watch and/or own these fine (in some cases, not so fine) films.

I also noticed that there was one movie I forgot to include in the picture, Zombie 3. Yeah, that one is fun to watch and not take seriously because nothing in that film makes sense.

I shall go more into detail about these films in a YouTube v-blog very soon, so look forward to that! I will also post a short entry based on that v-blog here, and a post on my favorite zombie movie. There's so much to say and so little time and space, but I'll find a moment.

Until then enjoy your Halloween and don't become zombie food! Ha!

Zombie Movie Marathon

So this is my 21st post. Hopefully they'll keep on coming!

Several posts back I mentioned having a week long marathon of my favorite zombie movies. Well, I thought I'd give you a little peek at what I watched already.

I started with Zombie 2 and left off with the 1990 remake of George Romero's Night of the Living Dead. It's a great start, and there are still a lot of another movies in my collection that I want to get through.

Halloween is tomorrow, and I'll definitely watch my favorite zombie movie before the premier of The Walking Dead.

Good times ahead.

Until then, I'll keep shambling away.

Saturday Randomness

Well, it's Saturday and I went briefly this morning to take care of an errand. I was dressed in jeans, a hooded sweater, a scarf and a jacket. Even with these protective precautions, the cold morning air was a little prickly to say the least!

One thing I could appreciate was bright blue skies, people out and about, and the traffic around my neighborhood. And, the exercise!

Yes,sir! Between my home and where I needed to go it was a good it was a good eight blocks. So, that's about sixteen blocks total.

I bought myself a nice breakfast after I took care of my errand. A Dunkin' Donuts' breakfast sandwich and an orange coolatta.

Tasty and refreshing for a Saturday morning!

Oh, on another note. This is my twentieth post, amazing! I didn't think I would make it this far, but I proved myself wrong.

Anyway, stay tuned because more posts are coming later today!

Until then, enjoy your Saturday!

Pen Spinning or Twirling!

Wow, I can't believe that I have almost reached twenty posts on my blog!

I was looking through my Youtube page when I noticed that another Youtuber, I subscribe to, had posted a new video. The title was enough to catch my attention. Of course, some of you might just think of me as being more weird for finding this interesting.

To that I say: You Will Be Amazed and Intrigued Too!

The video was filled with Japanese students and adults who are proficient pen spinners or twirlers. A while back, I had been interested in this skill, but grew impatient every time the pen fell out of my hand.

After watching this video and observing the skill and different methods of pen twirling, it's correct to assume that my interest has been piqued again. I am so fascinated by how easy it looks and I want to give it another shot.

Well, enough of me yapping about it. Just watch the clip yourself!

Credit to The Japan Channel for posting this up on his YouTube channel.

Oh Japan and Japanese people! You continue to fascinate me with your quirks and inventions. One day I will visit you!

Until then, ja ne

Advice I Guess or Perhaps...

I debated whether or not to talk about this, and decided to go ahead. Like I mentioned before this blog will be filled with random thoughts and things I come across. Some will be straight forward, while others pertain to the awkward moments or questions of life.

This will be a response to one of those random questions.

Recently, someone I know asked the question, "How do you mend a broken heart?" My interest was piqued because I heard various remedies throughout my years as I'm sure most people have. Sure enough, this person had some of those answers and a few unique ones.

This person always has a good sense of humor.

I guess my question would be, "Who broke it?" Now this is getting into an area where the response could touch on anything. It's far to large to discuss, and I, honestly, don't want to here because it's not the point of this post.

In the past, I have been able to look past something like this. I would just wait it out and let time continue to tick away in hopes for something better. Now, I sometimes think about whether I made the right choices throughout my life. I tend to think too much, so that isn't a good tactic.

And, I also think (there I go again!) waiting or letting too much time go by can't bring you the "healing" that you are looking for. Then again, maybe it does. Everybody functions and reasons differently. So, to each there own.

I will say this: How do you mend a broken heart?

You let someone/everyone help you to pick up the pieces. You do everything that you want! Even if it means being somewhere else to do it, then do so!

A little slice of life; although, you (like most people) already know this, but it's always good to hear someone else say it to.

That was longer than it should have been, but it was one of my circulating thoughts.

Squirrel Fu and the Art of Vicious Rodent

This has to be the strangest post that I will put up, but after further thought many of my posts are or will be strange!

So what is Squirrel Fu and the Art of Vicious Rodent? Come on, you can't figure that one out on your own? Doesn't the picture on the left clue you in to what that is?

Yeah, I guess my thoughts were also left to wander when I first heard "Squirrel Fu". I mean I didn't know just how vicious these rodents were until I saw a squirrel thrashing around in the grass.

Let me tell you!

That squirrel was on hyper turbo mode. I didn't know whether he was fighting with himself or trying to rip the leaves on the grass. But, it was quite a sight!

These rodents are vicious and wild when they become confrontational. They fight with raw, gritty and savage instinct. As the picture above clearly indicates, they are tooth and nail in your face.

This picture is hilarious! To the right we have evidence that even squirrels will resort to the use of lightsabers.

I wonder what kind of control do they have over the force? Their wild nature most allow for frequent bursts of immeasurable power.

I mean, I'm talking over 9000!

Some of you out there might know what I'm referencing.

In general, I believe that all rodents are vicious animals that will defend and/or retaliate against aggressors who invade their territory or take their food. However, it is the nature or way that they engage in combat that I find to be intriguing because it is formless, yet direct and efficient.

For such small mammals, squirrels display an intense and artful combination of fighting that can equal or rival most martial arts. The picture below should clearly be evidence of that.

There is something both dynamic and brutal about this picture. I found this picture a long time ago and thought it was all the rage, so it was great when I rediscovered it. I remember thinking that it had to be a digitally enhanced picture, but it looks real.

A shot captured at the moment of an extreme encounter! I would go as far as to say that this picture alone demonstrates poetry in extreme motion.

That's my take. What do you guys think?

And, if you want video proof check out the link below.

Those are some jumpy squirrels!

Maybe I'll make another post on cat fighters!
Until then, Peace!

Aliens Abduct Us In Skyline

I keep seeing ads for this movie everywhere, and the trailer plays every five minutes on TV. Nothing speaks advertising - to create interest - like "shoving it in your face" until you become tired of it. And, that is exactly what the distributors of the film Skyline have done.

Now, granted, most film companies benefit from the over exposure their films get. Low-budget films can certainly gain something from the hype created, but I'm not impressed.

Instead, to me, it comes off as annoying.

However, that is not what I find unimpressive. When you look at this trailer, the first thing that jumps out is the fact that there are hundreds of ships appearing at once.

What does that remind you of?

The next thing is the flying spacecrafts are appearing and hovering over, what looks like, major city skylines.

Those two points alone should remind you of a similar film that used the same visual tactics back in 1996. The only difference is that these ships don't appear to be a mile wide. At least they don't appear to be; of course, I could be wrong.

Figured it out yet? Well, if you guessed Independence Day than you guessed right.

I honestly believe that this movie is a direct imitation of ID4 because it uses those same visual cues, but takes it in a new perspective by focusing on a small group of average people instead of the military and scientists. While this may be okay, I can't help but think that Eric Balfour's camera wielding character is similar to T.J. Miller's character in Cloverfield.

They're both running around trying to video tape the whole event as it happens.

I may be judging the movie too harshly based only by what I saw in the trailer, alien movies of this kind are a dime a dozen. There are some really interesting visuals and battles that some what give the movie a fresh POV, but how will it all end?

The plot behind the British sci-fi film Monsters is actually a little more appealing.

As far as Skyline goes I may or may not see it. Only time will tell.

Until next time!

I just realize that this whole post looks like a huge ad for the movie, Ha! Oh well, watch the trailer and make up your own minds.

Androids and Workshops

So, in January I go back up to Maine for my third residency as a Stonecoast MFA student. I'm excited to go and see all my fellow Stonecoasters and the avalanche of snow that will be waiting.

I'm especially looking forward to my workshops!

Why? Because I have worked on two stories that dwell within the realms of science fiction that interest me. On one hand I have an android, and on the other there are special powers.

I always strive to achieve some kind of theme or trait of human emotion in my stories. Some work while others do not fair so well. But, even with the ones that don't go so well, I still try to salvage it by providing the beginning of a story.

My android story is a kind of playful look at getting an interesting toy that we may not want, but eventually find a use for. I have written different versions and revised it several times; with each alteration I found a new compelling take on the story I originally started with.

It is fun to discover what new takes we can provide to the same old story. Of course, that is the job of a writer. We keep picking at something until we find something else to say about it.

Well, my two stories are as ready as they ever will be. But, before I can see what kind of reaction they'll get at the residency, I'll have to mail them out!

I'll do that later today.

Until then, I'll keep trying to write! Ha!

Back to the Future: The Game

That's right folks, developer Telltale Games is bringing the most beloved movie series to the next gen consoles. All I can say is it's about time!

I just watched the first film with a friend over the weekend, and now I read about this. I'm excited that it's happening. At least it will take our minds off that horrid NES game from years ago.

Yeah! You know the one.

Anyway, the game is in production and it looks very promising.

The story line is set a few months after the last film, and Christopher Loyd is set to do voice over work for his character Doc. Brown. Unfortunately, Micheal J. Fox couldn't be signed to do voice over work for his character Marty Mcfly, but it's in good hands.

More information in the preview clip!

Below is a link to a preview video from Gametrailers. Two previews videos are available; follow one to get to the other.

Live on Back to the Future!

October Horror Movies!

Well, it's October - as if we didn't know, and SyFy, The Chiller Network and AMC have been showing horror, paranormal and anything else under the sun that is October/Halloween related. What Fun!

Today I saw The Midnight Meat Train, Identity and The Reaping. Yeah, I didn't do much expect watch movies and revise a short story.

And, I was looking after my sis. (She was a little under the weather this weekend.)

I saw The Midnight Meat Train and Identity before, but The Reaping was new for me. Fairly good films. I think Midnight-Train was a good film, very creepy and visceral. It could be another title I add to my DVD collection.

Speaking of adding to my DVD collection, I recently found out the The Return of the Living Dead was released on Blu-Ray/DVD combo. Hmm.. maybe another possible grab.

Also, and this could be a fine addition to my collection, the Alien series will be released on Blu-Ray by the end of this month. Woohoo!

Since SyFy and The Chiller Network are having their own horror, paranormal, etc. marathons then I should have one too! I'll be watching my zombie movie collection during the final week of October leading up to Halloween. I have a large collection and I may not get through all of them, but I'll get through some. My favorites are on the top of the list.

So stay tuned because my next few posts will contain what I'm watching, my whole zombie movie collection, and my personal favorites.

Until then enjoy the picture below, Zombies!!

Bonus if you can tell me which movie this picture is from!

Update to "NYAF - Ishikawa Rika Panel" post.

Hey Guys & Gals,

I added a Youtube link to a video I took during "Angry" Ishikawa's spotlight panel. Good times and fun memories!

Check the "NYAF - Ishikawa Rika Panel - UPDATED 10/21" post. Link is at the bottom.

You can follow the link to my Youtube Channel for several other clips from Ishikawa's panel.

Enjoy!

NY Medical Assistance Hearing

So, a couple of months ago (I believe back in June) I received a notice from the NY Medical Assistance program stating that my coverage was going to be suspended.

Their claim was that my monthly earnings exceeded the program's requirement for eligibility.

I said, no way! That has to be a mistake. Their mathematical equation for estimating my monthly income calculated a number that was twice the amount that I actually earned per month.

Making my own calculations (simple enough), the result I got was completely different. Something was way off!

I called the medical assistance office and spoke to one of their representatives. She retrieved my records; after reviewing my submitted renewal information (including copies of my pay stubs), she also noticed an error. The representative advised me that the next step would be to request a hearing. So I did.

Yesterday (10/20), I made my way down to their offices (located on 34th street) for the hearing. Since this was my first hearing, I had no idea what to expect. I wasn't nervous, but I imagined what it would be like sitting in front of a judge or case worker and arguing my case.

It was quite amusing.

When my case was called, I was led into a small room where an intermediary and a case worker sat in front of me. The case worker presented me with documents that showed my monthly and yearly earnings, while the intermediary asked me to verify the usual standard information (age, address, etc.)

The whole time I had the quirky idea that this reminded me of the interrogation scenes from Law & Order. The only difference was that the room was brightly lit and there was no Det. Stabler or Det. Benson in the room with me. Lol!

To make the long story short, the argument was that I was being paid by two jobs because I worked for CUNY, but my pay stubs were from the NY State Comptroller.

An honest mistake, but one that could have been handled more carefully. I mean, they figured out through my earnings that I worked part-time, so how could they make such a gross miscalculation?

Unfortunately, I still won't find out if I'll retain my medical insurance until a judge makes a decision on my case. They weren't able to tell how long it would take before a decision was made (go figure).

But, I'll keep my insurance as is until then. I'm still optimistic that things will remain the same.

I'll keep you posted.
Until then!

My NYAF/NYCC Goodies!

Well hello there!

Back for more, Aye! Well, I couldn't blame you; NYAF/NYCC was fun, and I wish I could have attended all three days. However, that's not to say that the one day I went wasn't jammed packed with things to see and buy. Keeping that in mind, this will be the last post on some of things I bought or grabbed while at the con.

What I bought or got at the con wasn't much. But, for me, they are my little treasures!

As I mentioned in my previous post the real reason for attending this year was because of Hangry & Angry. So, before "Angry" Ishikawa's signing session I purchased a few items, and had her sign one of them.

Above is a set of photos of "Angry" that I purchased, which came with a Hangry & Angry sticker.

I also bought Hangry & Angry's CD "Sadistic Dance". This is actually a great album with a lot of rock tunes. It is all in Japanese with sparse English phrases put into the mix, and honestly, it's quite addicting!

Rock on!

"Angry" Ishikawa signed the inside of the album booklet.
She wrote the English word "Angry" in Hiragana.

Now this is something that I found a little odd afterward. In Japanese, English words are actually written out in Katakana, but Ishikawa wrote "Angry" using Hiragana. Hmm... oh well, it's cool anyway!

A picture of both Hangry & Angry on the inside of the album booklet.

I still think it would have been great if both of them were there. Then I would have gotten both of them to sign it.

Next up,

I actually received this from someone who was handing them out. It's a mini art book with designs of the characters from the new anime series called StarDriver.

Don't know much about this series, but the designs look pretty interesting.

This is the actual NYAF/NYCC program guide. It is twice as thick, covering twice as many events and features!

I bought a couple of DVDs that I found through out my journey that day.

Being a big fan of the Ninja Turtles movies, at least the first two, when I was younger I found this movie collection to be a real steal.

One of the DVD booths at the con was selling DVDs for $5.99, and I found this for $10. I wish it was also $5.99, but still a bargain none the less.

For those of you that know me personally out there you know that I'm a huge zombie movie fan. So, when I found a copy of the 25th Anniversary Special Edition DVD of Zombi 2 I was thrilled. This find was a true diamond in the rough, for me at least!

Zombi 2, 2-disc Special Edition!

What a rare find indeed. It one of those situations where you just happen to be in the right place at the right time!

Well, that's pretty much it. Like I said before, there was so much to see and I would have liked to visit every single booth at the con, but it was really impossible. Still, I managed to get a few memorable souvenirs.

It all finally comes to an end. It sad when events come and go, and you know that it was a real great experience. But at least I have my pics and vids to remember them by. So with that my blog posts on NYAF/NYCC 2010 come to an end.

I hope you had fun reading my posts as much as I had fun experiencing them. Can't wait until next year!

Until then, keep on rocking!
